Edible Landscaping on the Northwest Coast

Scott and Dixie WGWDixie and Scott Edwards from Watershed Garden Works will be the speakers at the March Beers to Your Health program taking place on Thursday, March 13 at the Fort George Brewery in Astoria. Doors open at 6 pm for food and drink, with the presentation beginning at 7 pm. The evening’s program is being co-sponsored by the Astoria Co-op and North Coast Food Web,

red huckleberryDixie and Scott will show us how to transform our gardens into edible landscapes, with a focus on the native plants that their nursery specializes in growing. Watershed Garden Works will also bring plants to sell at this event, so you can get inspired and get your garden going right after!

wapato webFor many years now, the Edwards family have been sharing their knowledge of food plants–both native and imported–with the Lower Columbia Pacific community, as well as selling produce and value add products from their small farm and nursery in Longview, Washington.  You can find out more about their business here at www.watershedgardenworks.com, or come visit their booth at the River People Farmers Market in Astoria, starting in June of 2014.
