About North Coast Food Web Cooking Classes

Our mission as an organization is to ‘cultivate a healthy community and vibrant economy through food and agriculture.’ When it comes to cooking, we believe that providing hands-on fun in the kitchen and sharing a meal helps us all care more about what we eat and how we can make better food choices.

Our aim for our cooking classes is that they’re:

  • Fun
  • Educational
  • Use whole and healthy ingredients


Types of Classes for Summer 2017:

The following classes were chosen to provide a diverse range of cuisines that speak to North Coasters of all budgets and comfort levels in the kitchen. We aim to offer one course in each of the following categories each month. We also host Kids Cooking Camps and private event classes. Please email us for more info.

  1. Good and Cheap Price: $0-$45 Pay What You Can

  • Menu from award-winning Good and Cheap cookbook – new participants receive a copy
  • Menu typically include Appetizer, Entree, Salad, Dessert
  • Include a skills component such as proper tool use, meal planning on a budget, helpful hints
  1. Kitchen Table Travel Price $60 per person

  • Menu based on specific region or place
  • Use of healthy, local and seasonal ingredients is incorporated when possible
  • Menu typically include Appetizer, Entree, Salad, Dessert
  • Paired alcoholic beverage + non-alcoholic drinks available
  1. Cooking and Eating Local Price $50 per person

  • Focus of menus will be at least one in-season ingredient
  • Features at least one local producer/farmer/chef
  • Menu might feature specialty projects like kraut or canning to more traditional meals
  1. Family Focused Price $45 ($80 for 2)

  • Tailored to families or youth (kids only, kids + parents, teens, etc.)
  • Menu typically include Appetizer, Entree, Salad, Dessert
  • Classes are designed for 8+ years of age
