Hello Producers and Chefs!
Monday, February 27
1pm to 3pm
CCA Regional Food Bank
2010 SE Chokeberry Avenue in Warrenton, OR
Need to talk to us? firstname.lastname@example.org or 503-468-0921.
North Coast Food Web is once again hosting an opportunity for each of you to meet. It’s an effort to bolster our local food producers and make serving local foods easier for our chefs.
Farmers are beginning to decide what to plant for the new season. Chefs can help those decisions along by sharing their needs for local produce, dairy, meat, etc.
Come prepared to introduce yourself to the group and answer one of two questions: What do you want to sell? or What do you want to buy? Bring your contact information to hand out.
Who Should Be There?
Farmer-Chef Connect is not just for farmers or chefs! If you are also a local fishermen, meat rancher, egg producer, forager, cheese maker, or other local food or beverage producer who wants to (and legally can) sell to restaurants, or if you own or work at a cafe or restaurant, and would like to get more local food onto your menu, then this is the event for you.
If you are a member of the public who is interested in purchasing from local food producers, we suggest you connect at Meet Your Farmer, taking place on April 11 this year at Clatsop County Master Gardeners Spring Into Gardening event at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds.
Food producers: be prepared to talk briefly about what you grow, raise, harvest or produce and how you sell it.
Chef and restaurant folks: be prepared to talk briefly about what foods you’d really like to be able to purchase locally, and any purchasing restrictions you might have.
Everyone: bring business cards, contact information, product lists and anything else that will help you get in touch after the event. Food producers, bringing samples is ok, but there isn’t an opportunity to set up a display, so keep it portable and easy.
We hope to see you at this year’s Farmer-Chef Connect! If you can’t make it, but want to receive contact lists or information that comes out of the event, please let us know.
